About Us
Our goal at Helping Hearts & Hands is to be available to
the people in Gooding County, Idaho, to provide assistance with needs beyond
their financial ability. Our primary function since opening our doors on February 28, 2007 as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit is as a Food Pantry. We work with
local schools to provide food for a weekend backpack program for students who
are food insecure, and this program continues year round. We operate a Coats for Kids and Adults
program. We have a small budget for assistance.
We feel that any person in need of assistance within the County should
be able to reach out for help, and we want to be there. We try to have
resources available for emergency assistance for basic needs such as: food,
shelter, clothing, and medical care. Our help is short term, to assist people
until they can secure help from other resources or become self-sufficient. Many
of the people we assist are employed, but statistics show their income is not
enough to meet basic needs.
